Workshops at EORS2010

 

We are proud to announce that the
18th European Orthopaedic Research Society Annual Conference,
will have two workshops on Wednesday 30th of June from 14:30-17:30,
leading up to the opening ceremony of EORS2010.

 

Work Shop 1:
“The Tribology of PEEK”

As the performance expectations for joint replacements are rising and more advanced materials are required to meet these increasing demands. The focus of The Tribology Workshop is on PEEK which has shown promise for joint arthroplasty applications. The workshop will feature presentations from esteemed industry experts who have been investigating the performance of PEEK for tribological applications.

 

Work Shop 2:
“Versatility of micro-CT for Orthopaedic Research”

The micro-CT workshop will feature the latest developments and new features of SCANCO Medical µCT systems. The workshop will provide a broad application overview, to demonstrate the suitability and versatility of micro-CT with examples from the following research areas:

Bone micro-architecture  

Bone density

Cardio-vascular       

Tumours

Scaffolds/ Tissue engineering   

Cartilage

Human extremities (in vivo osteoporosis)

 

The workshops are free of charge to attend for EORS2010 participants and your attendance can be indicated during the online registration process for the conference. Unfortunately the workshops will be run in parallel, so it is only possible to attend one of them.
